When you're constantly carrying thoughts around in your head, everything can become tangled together. It can be hard to work out what's important, what's based on fear and what you genuinely feel. Talking things through with someone who listens without judgement often helps those tangled thoughts begin to make more sense.

As you start to untangle what's going on, you may notice that your thoughts don't feel quite so overwhelming. You might become clearer about what matters to you, feel more confident making decisions or find that you no longer need to go over the same worries quite so often.

Overthinking is often a sign that something deeper is asking for your attention. Anxiety, self-doubt, difficult experiences, uncertainty or major life changes can all leave your mind working overtime. Therapy isn't about stopping thoughts altogether. It's about understanding what's driving them and finding a gentler way of responding to yourself.
